Happy Easter! - Holiday blogging #1

Hey bloggers wherever you are in the world. Happy Easter! That's right it's Easter Friday. Long ago Jesus died on the cross for everyone's sins. Yep on a Friday he died for our sins. A sin is a (bad thing) that you may have done.

Did you know everyone in the world has sinned. Well today Christians celebrate Easter and thank him for dying on the cross and saving our lives. Right till today he is living in Heaven with God.

Well since people around the world have been celebrating Easter, over the years Easter eggs were invented. Did you know back when Easter eggs were invented people used chicken eggs and painted them with colourful colours just to celebrate Easter.

Now days it's made out of chocolate, some hollow, some filled with a surprise but every single one of them is wrapped with foil or in a box. Today we will go shop for some more and my mum will hide them.

Do you have Easter eggs? Are you celebrating Easter with your family?
Leave a comment below if you are celebrating Easter!

Mitchell - Summer learning journey Day # 11

Hello bloggers. Sorry I have not been posting for a while. I was with my family camping all the way in Tutukaka near Whangarei. I will be posting some photos very soon. Let's begin Day 11 !
Activity 1 - Participating in a NZ sport
I have been asked to take
a picture of me participating in a New Zealand sport. Here it is: This is me on my first day of Cricket. In the picture I am holding a bat and a cricket ball. This was taken at the Point England reserve. I was playing for the Ellerslie Cricket Club with some of my friends.

Activity 2 - Sporting hero
Image result for mika vukonaMy sports hero is Mika Vukona. He plays for the Basketball team the New Zealand "Skycity Breakers" (Auckland). He plays the position Power foward. He is my sports hero because he is a great basketball player and he is a great person. He is also Fijian like me which is amazing although I have tongan in me too.

Bonus - Best NZ sport
According to the Love New Zealand website, the most popular sports in New Zealand are rugby union, rugby league, netball, soccer and cricket. In my opinion I have to decide which is the best sport. I would definitely choose "Rugby union" for sure. Here is why I have chosen it to be the best NZ sport.
. It is the most popular NZ sport
Image result for rugby union. Many people play it
. It is really popular all over the world
. William Webb Ellis created the sport rugby by picking up a rugby ball and started running with it
That's all the reasons why I choose Rugby Union as the best NZ sport.

Mitchell - Summer Learning Journey # Day 1

Activity 1

The country I have chosen is Japan. I have decided to choose Japan because it has many different traditional sports such as Karate,Sumo wrestling and much more. I would really like to participate in these sports because it encourages you to have confidence in self defense.

The other reason I have chosen Japan is because it is a country with thousands of islands. It has a really beautiful paradise and I would really love to visit the islands.

Activity 2

1. In Japanese language Japan means Nihon. That means Sun Origin.
2. Japan sometimes suffers from acid rain which is caused by gases that come from powerplants.
3. In some Japanese bedrooms the floor is covered with Tatami. It is thick grass that is weaved to sleep on.

Mitchell Riverside Highlights (Monday) 2016

HELLO BLOG VIEWERS !!! Welcome back to my blog. On Friday I came back from Riverside CAMP. It was a really fun experience. This year my team was named the Thunders. I slept in cabin number 1. We did alot of fun activities. Here are some highlights.

Monday (First day of Camp) - Around 6:00 am in the morning I awoke with a big yawn loud enough for my parents to hear in the other room. I slowly made my way down to the kitchen to have breakfast. My sister also had breakfast with me too. Then I brushed my teeth, got ready and watched TV. When it was around 8:00 am my Nana came to pick us up to drop us to school. When we got there other Riversider's were packing their stuff too.

We went to the breeze were we sat down and did the check list to see if everyone was here. Everyone was her and we were ready to go. I hopped on the bus with my friends Noah and Ajani. On the trip to Willow Park we played Yellow Car. You play by spotting a random yellow car while driving in the distance. We finally arrived at Willow Park in Eastern Beach. We drove down the driveway and there we saw the buildings of the cabins.

The bus driver pulled the brakes, the door opened and everyone ran out. I clutched my hands to someone's suitcase and lifted it out to the foyer room. Everyone did the same with different bags. After everyone's bags had been put in we went to the Rimu Room.

We did our first ever activity. It was the running around game. We had a piece of paper and had a whole lot of questions on it. We had to find them out by running around the park.

After that we had afternoon tea,got changed and headed to the beach. After the fun beach games we had showers and had lunch. We got changed and it was time to play the Crunchie hunt. In the dark you had to find Crunchie chocolates. In the end I found 0 but we all got to eat some anyways.

We had our first sleep in our cabins. Make sure that you read what we did on all the other days by checking out my other blogposts I will post.
