Travel Blog Post - Day #4 (Hawaii) Wedding Day!

Getting ready some pig!
Me at the wedding!
Hey bloggers! A few days ago it was my uncles wedding! It was very fun to attend! Let's talk about it! So I and my cousins, and uncles went to my uncles friends house who is also Fijian and we did/made a lovo. (a underground oven). We helped grate some komala (sweet potatoe) some cocnut and more. After that we cooked it and bought it to the wedding!

Uncle and Aunty!
The wedding was at the Botanical Gardens in Hawaii! It was really beautiful! It had nice rivers, waterfalls, japanese shrines and bells, animals and heaps more. At the wedding ceremony it was very short! They just came up : sang some songs, said some words the poof they were husband and wife!

The layout!
My uncle and his baby!
After the ceremony we went to the reception where everyone ate, drank, danced, sand, and did heaps of exciting things. Me and my cousins, and my friends all went down to the river when it got dark and were hunting for pigs. There were 3 black pigs and my little cousin got scared so we started chasing. It was really fun!

Anyways chasing pigs we went to go look for soe fish in the Koi Fish Pond. I saw lots of koi fish in the pond near the waterfall and it was amazing. After all those adventures we had we went back to the reception to drink kava and eat a little bit.

My cousins and other family members were dancing lots! It was really crazy! Anyways after all the partying and fun we went back into the truck and loaded it with the leftover food and started to head back home!

Mitchell's - 40 Hour Famine!

Hey bloggers! If you didn't know a few weeks ago the Year 5 & 6 Extension group, as well as the Year 7 & 8 Extension group had the amazing opportunity to take part in this years 40 Hour Famine. It is run by World Vision every fundamental year.

All money raised goes towards helping the country of the year. Last year my extension group fund raised for Syria and I think we also did it this year for Syria too. It takes part between June the 9th - June the 11th of 2017.

On the night of June the 9th the extension student's bought things such as blankets, pillows, beanbags, mattresses, Just Juice, and Barley Sugars. Also if you didn't know we were having a sleepover and we are not allowed to eat or drink - except from Just Juice and Barley Sugars, because that is apart of the campaign.

We all slept in the library. One side for the girls, and one side for the boys. After we set up our stuff we all gathered in the hall to have a meeting about what we were going to do. Also we are put into groups depending on which colour you wanted to be in.

Me and my friends were in Team Green, while my sister and other participants were in groups such as Team Blue, Team Red, and Team Yellow. It was really competitive. We were going to have lots of fun.

Our groups had so much fun because you have to dance to a song your whole group decides on. We choose the Beyonce classic - Single Ladies to make a comedy and also to entertain everyone.

After that we did something really important. We were at the sleepover for a reason and also to raise money for the people in Syria. We turned off all of the lights in the hall and lay down on the ground to feel like what it would feel like for Syrian kids who have nowhere to go.

Anyways after all of that we got to have freetime. We had 4 options. To watch a movie, hangout in the library, hangout in the hall, or play games in Creative Space - (ICT - Computer Lab). Me and my friends went around the place.

Soon after 2 - 3 hours it was getting late. We then all went to sleep at 10:00.

The next morning everyone was very tired. Also it was a Saturday morning and everyone then eventually went home. Unfortunately I only fast 20 hours as I was really hungry. Also my sister did 20 hours too.

Well that's it! Have you ever done a famine?

Making Slime!

Hey bloggers! Today me and my sisters were very bored. Watching TV, Playing games whatever. Well then we decided to make Slime! We asked our mum and dad and they said yes! So we left in the car to the $2 dollar shop to get some ingredients.

We got 3 bottles of glue from the $2 dollar shop in Glen Innes called "Super Saver". We got 3 bottles because my other sister was at a sleepover. Then we went to Pak'n'Save to buy some Shaving Cream and Food Colouring. Lastly we went to Martha's Backyard to get some Laundry Detergent for our Slime activator. Also Tide is a American Laundry detergent brand and also is the most popular laundry detergent in the USA.

Here is 1 slime recipe we made up: - I took this photo and also edited it. This is my sister's bubblegum slime.

You will need:

1 bottle of glue - ( 4 - 8 oz)
3 - 5 pumps of body lotion - optional
1/2 cup of Shaving cream - If you want fluffy slime
Food colouring - If you want colour
Scents - Bubble gum flavour
Laundry detergent - (Only Tide will work) - You can buy tide from Martha's Backyard.

Instructions: First add the glue into a bowl - the amount of glue you put in, will be the size of your slime
Then if you have food colouring add it now and mix.
Then mix in your lotion - optional and shaving cream - optional.
Then add any some bubble gum scent into your slime.
Then you will need to add the slime activator into your mixture.

Add bits of laundry detergent into your slime. As you can see it will start to thicken and that is when you will need to knead with your hands. There you go that's how you make bubble gum slime.

Now I will show you how to make blueberry fluffy slime!

1 bottle of glue - ( 4 - 8 oz)
3 - 5 pumps of body lotion - optional
1/2 cup of Shaving cream
Food colouring - If you want colour - blue is the colour of the laundry detergent
Scents - Blueberry flavour
Laundry detergent - (Only Tide will work) - You can buy tide from Martha's Backyard.

First add the glue into a bowl - the amount of glue you put in, will be the size of your slime
Then if you have food colouring add it now and mix.
Then mix in your lotion - optional and shaving cream.
Then add any some blueberry scent into your slime.
Then you will need to add the slime activator into your mixture.

Here some pictures of our slime in the making!

Making Blanket Forts!

Hey blog viewers! Guess what? Today me and my sisters decided to make some blanket forts! It was really fun making the blanket fort. Here is some instructions on how we made our very own blanket fort!

Blanket fort
First we grabbed 4 chairs from our kitchen and placed them in the living room. Then we got a hold of some light blankets from our bedrooms and put them over and around the chairs. Also we had some hanging off some of our couches.

After we did that it wasn't finished yet. We added some light blankets to go on the floor and also got some cushions and stuffed animals. We also bought some snacks and were eating them if we were hungry. Then we added some books and some devices!

Me and my sisters each have a room in between the 4 chairs. Here are some pictures of our fort:

I hope you like our blanket fort we made!

Mitchell - Road trip to (Hamilton) - and Ice Cream

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey blog viewers! Guess what? Yesterday afternoon me and my family took a road trip down to Hamilton with some other family members so my grandmother could do her hair at her friends Hair Salon.

We also ate from some of the nearby fast food restaurants in Hamilton Mall called Centre Place! I had some subway and my sisters had McDonald's. After my grandmother did her hair we had the opportunity to go to the Hamilton night markets. It was so cool!

We bought some food and drinks and we even had the most amazing time there too, because we saw the live recording of the Maori television show : "Sidewalk Karaoke".
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                                                  Sunday
Guess what? Today we went to drive down to Pokeno to go get some Ice Cream! We first parked in a parking spot and walked in. Did you know that there are 2 ice cream shops right next to each other? That was pretty cool but we decided to go to the one on the left "Pokeno Ice cream and Coffee".  I think that was the name. Anyways I picked my two flavours with my sisters.

I choose the flavour Peaches and Cream and Mango Ripple! Here is a picture of mine:

Have you ever gone to get Ice Cream from Pokeno?

Mitchell - Summer learning journey Day # 19 - Planes,Trains and Automobiles!

Hi bloggers. Today is my last day in Japan before I fly over back to New Zealand tomorrow. I will really miss Japan and blogging! Anyways let's continue with Day 19!
Activity 1 - Transportation
I have been asked to imagine that the neighbouring was 30 kilometres away.  There are a number of beautiful villages and interesting things to see along the way. I have four options for this trip. I can take a:
  1. Train – 25 minute ride; No stops along the way; $12 for the trip (return)
  2. Bus – 45 minute ride; Two stops along the way to look at interesting villages; $8 for the trip (return)
  3. Scooter – 1 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops; $5 for the trip (return)
  4. Image result for biking in japanBicycle – 2 hour ride; Unlimited number of stops but there are some hills along the way; $1 (return)
On my blog I have to tell you which of these options would I choose from. The option I have decide to choose was number 4. I would choose a bike because it is very cheap and I love biking. I have also chosen to ride a Bicycle because you get to view at the beautiful villages on the way! I would love to bring a camera to take nice snapshots! Activity 2 - Vehicles
Image result for hendo hoverboardI have just finished watching a video named "Amazing vehicles" I have been asked to tell you which was my favourite one. I have chosen the Hover board. I liked it because you get to stand up and ride like you are floating in the air. Also If I don't feel like walking I would just get on my hover board. Bonus - Great trail

The Canadian government has decided to build the longest walking trail in the world. It is 15 000 miles long and travels around Canada. For this activity, we are drawing inspiration from this walking trail and thinking about our own footprints. I have been asked to create a digital footprint on DrawIsland Tool and draw a footprint with our name and the name of the country on it. After we can decorate it as much as we want!
