Attitude Talk!

Hey Bloggers! Today Team 5 at Pt England School had an attitude talk from a programme called "Attitude".  A guy named Tony came today to talk about a topic and issue we are all going through, here are some points I picked up.

Hair

He talked about hair and how we grow hair in certain places such as your facial hair, hair on your legs and arms, armpits and private areas. Basically you can grow hair anywhere except your palms, your lips and your sole area.

Skin

Another topic he talked about is your skin, around this age our skin starts to develop and sometimes grow what many people may know "Acne". Acne can grow on your skin during puberty and can produce pimples and pores. This can be caused by sweat, oily skin and especially bacteria on your skin so make sure you wash your skin with facial scrubs or maybe you can start using face masks which I use!

Sweating

Sweat is very normal at this age and can start during puberty as well. This can be released from areas on your skin when you are hot and sometimes tired. It is important to always have soapy washes in the shower. You can also apply deodorant like most people so it can block sweat from releasing from your armpits. Sometimes it can smell so make sure you wash!

Girls

He also talked about changes in girls as well. They grow hair, start to produce lower voices as well and more. You can check another girls blog post for more information :D

Boys

Our hormones start to change and we become more mature. We start to gain more muscles and start to grow facial hair such as beards and mustaches. Boys also tend to smell which comes with everyone. Also a lot of awkward words were spoken so you can research about that.

Believe in yourself!

Believe in yourself. You can do anything you want and be anything you want. If you work hard and put your mind to it you can do ANYTHING!

Relationships

Did you know that the average relationship timing for people in New Zealand is 16? Wow! You need to take your time, start being friends first. Kick off from there. Don't rush into it too soon. You come to school to learn and have fun, not to get married :D

Parents

Talking to your parents about these topics are really important. They are people who you can trust and have experiences these issues. Even an older sibling could give you advice with puberty. They even may be high schoolers!

Here are some links provided to help you go through it!
