Mitchell Holiday Blogging WLJ #5

Hello blog viewers today I will be posting up the tasks for day 5 Eddie the eagle.

Activity 1: I have just watched the trailer of Eddie the Eagle. The movie talks about how Eddie wants to achieve his dreams but other people in his life tell him constantly he cannot participate but in the end somehow he did.

Activity 2: Marjorie Gestring was a world Olympic winner. She was the youngest person ever to win a gold medal. Being 13 must have been hard against others older than her. Here are 5 questions I would ask her if I were to meet her.

. Were you nervous?

. Did you think you were going to win?

. What was your reaction when you had won gold medal prize?

. Was it easy?

. Did you have fun?

Bonus: Jesse Owens participated in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Berlin is an place located in Germany. Around that time Adolf Hitler did not allow any dark skinned people to compete in the Olympics. But that did not stop Jesse Owens. He has inspired people to be just like him.

People in my life who inspire me is my family. My mum, dad, uncles,
aunties, cousins support me in whatever. All of us support each other in anything. They inspire me
to be kind to others.

Thanks for reading

  1. Hi Mitchell,

It sounds like you have a lovely family who is really supportive and encouraging. That's wonderful! I think that "Eddie the Eagle" would have appreciated it if more of his family was as supportive of his dreams as your family is of you! Poor Eddie, he had to really struggle in order to achieve this dream of competing at the Olympic games. Fortunately, he never gave up on this dream and, despite many setbacks, he represented his country at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary, Canada. That must have been the most amazing feeling for him - to know that he had made it!

I hope that we can all be as brave and courageous as Eddie and follow our dreams, even if experience a few challenges or setbacks along the way!

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Mitchell!

    Cheers, Rachel :)
